Before enrolling into this program please ensure you meet all the pre-requisites and understand the requirements of the program to deem if it is suitable for you.
The online Standard 11 refresher is perfect for participants who are already employed and can provide a third part report from a current or previous supervisor.
This Standard 11 – Surface Induction Refresher Online has been specifically designed for candidates wishing to renew their Standard 11 Surface Induction Passport, which will allow them to work on a Coal Mine Site in Queensland. The candidate must currently be employed and their current Standard 11 Surface Induction passport must be in date.
Upon successful completion of your Standard 11 – Refresher Online you will receive:
- Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment
- Standard 11 Surface Induction Passport - Valid For Five (5) Years (you must maintain your currency to renew in 5 years time)
Before you enrol in this program, you must have sound knowledge of how to use a computer and cloud based programs. As this is an self paced program you need to ensure you have the most up to date google chrome and the ability to navigate an online program. This program is not for you if you do not have sound computer skills and knowledge.
The Assessments are electronic and involve you completing tasks in WORD and within the platform. You are required to save documents and upload as part of some questionaires. The assessment also has short -answer and mulitple choice type questions throughout.
The Statutory Declaration will need to be signed by a JP or Cdec.
Our trainer may take 1-2 days to answer queries, mark your assessment and process your Statement of Attainement. Please be aware of this time frame before enrolling.
Course Pre-Requisites and Requirements
- Enrolment Form
- A copy of your current Standard 11 Statement of Attainment
- Third Party Report – completed and signed by a current or previous site supervisor
- Drivers Licence (clear colour copies of front and back)
- Passport size photo
- Statutory Declaration signed by a JP or Cdec sendt to NHST. Please note a Statement of Attainment will not be issued until the Stat Dec is received by NHST.
Once we receive and validate the above documents well send you a link to the online system where you can begin your Standard 11 refresher.
The candidate must have a sound knowledge of how to use a computer. This is vital as the tasks are all electronic and involve multiple program operation. If you can not use a computer we recommend you contact our team to attend an in house program.

Recognised Standard 11 – Information
The purpose of this standard is to assist sites to establish and maintain a training system which includes processes for identifying and delivering competent, safe and efficient work teams. Recognised Standard 11 compliant Coal Mining Induction training programs have been developed to assist mine sites in meeting their legislative obligations.
On successful completion of this training course, candidates will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment and a Standard 11 – Surface Induction card valid for five (5) years.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy

BMA Mine Site Induction
This induction is not valid for BMA Mine Sites, however after you have received your statement of attainment you can complete the BMA Bridging Program with BMA. This will allow candidates to have dual Standard 11 – Surface Inductions valid for both BMA and non-BMA sites. We recommend contacting BMA before enrolling to ensure you complete the right course for you.
