Dogging Training Program


CPCCLDG3001A Licence to perform dogging

This unit of competency covers the functions required to competently perform dogging operations to meet minimum training and assessment standards for the purposes of certification.

The scope of work is to demonstrate competence in:

  • the application of slinging techniques
  • selection and inspection of lifting gear
  • direction of the crane/hoist operator in the movement of the load including when the load is out of view of the operator

To obtain your qualification, the basic procedure requires you to undertake:

  • Initial training by New Horizons Safety and Training Services (usually 4 days but is dependant on applicant/s involved)
  • Supervised hours (under a licensed operator) operating the machine. These hours must be logged into an official Log Book
  • Final assessment

Logged Book hours required for full certification
: 120

At the completion of the course you will receive a High Risk Work Licence and a Statement of Attainment that is a nationally recognised qualification for this machine.

Refunds and Course Credits will apply to all participants enrolled to complete a course. Minimum 5 business days notice of cancellation required to recieve a full refund on fees paid. See Terms and Conditions of Course Enrolments for further information.

Dress Requirements / Personal Protective Equipment

It is the responsibility of course participants to acquire their own safety and protective clothing which includes:
    • Long Sleeve Hi-Visibility Shirt (or Long Sleeve Shirt with a Hi-Visibility Vest)
    • Long Pants
    • Steel Cap Safety Boots
    • Hard Hat (Optional)
    • Safety Glasses (Optional)
    • Safety Gloves & Belt Clip (Optional)
    • Ear plugs (provided by NHST)
No entry to the NHST training facility unless mandatory PPE is worn by the student.

There are no pre-requisites for this course.
No previous training is necessary.
