Course Description

This Standard 11 – Surface Induction has been specifically designed for candidates wishing to obtain a Generic Induction Passport, which will allow them to work a Coal Mine Site in Queensland.

NHST offer two pathways for Standard 11 with a 2 day or 3 day program. Please read below for further detail.

Nationally Accredited Training

Upon successful completion of your Standard 11 – Surface Induction 3 day program you will receive:

    • Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment
    • Standard 11 Surface Induction Passport - Valid For Five (5) Years (you must maintain your currency to renew in 5 years time)
This course structure allows you to obtain your Statement of Attainment ready for site entry. Your Standard 11 Surface Induction Passport is processed and mailed out to you by NHST. We recommend this course for job seekers, new employees or those who require entry on-site immediately.

Upon successful completion of your Standard 11 - Surface Induction 2 day program (partial) you will initially receive:
    • Statement of Completion
    • Workbook - To Be Completed On-site

The candidate must return the workbook within six (6) months from course completion for it to be assessed by New Horizons Safety and Training Services.

Once the workbook has been completed successfully and returned to New Horizons Safety and Training Services for assessment, the candidate will be issued the following:

    • Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment
    • Standard 11 Surface Induction Passport - Valid For Five (5) Years (you must maintain your currency to renew in 5 years time)
This program option is great for participants who are already employed and able to be inducted on site after the two day course.

It is a requirement by industry to have the workbook completed onsite before having a Statement of Attainment issued to the candidate. We do recommend contacting the site you work for or intend on working for to confirm any processes they may have in place.
