RIIWHS202D Enter and work in confined spaces

Course Description

For workers that often venture into confined spaces, a lack of knowledge and awareness often leads to unfortunate unplanned mishaps which can often be fatal.

It's an essential requirement that all entry persons are trained to the Australian Standard: 2865 Safe Working in Confined Space which is outlined in the above course qualification providing the participant with the fundamental processes, skills, and knowledge enabling them to conduct work safely in a confined space environment. Not only is a confined space a hazardous work environment but the work which is often performed in these locations often intensifying the potential for even greater danger.

    • Lockout and Tag-out
    • Safety Equipment
    • Permits and Administration
    • Standby and Emergency Procedures


Course Outcomes

On successful completion of this training course, candidates will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment with the unit of competency RIIWHS202D Enter and work in confined spaces.

Refresher Details: Candidates may be required to complete refresher training every five (5) years from date of course completion, if working on a coal mine site. Candidates may also be required to complete this refresher training earlier to comply with any site compliances.

There are no applicable course pre-requisites.


Language, Literacy and Numeracy

This training program requires basic reading, writing and numeracy skills.
